KHG on the road:World Heritage Site at the Völklingen Ironworks

Would you like to round off the semester with an excursion? Then discover with us the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks, the world's only completely preserved ironworks from the era of industrialization. In addition to the industrial monument, which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, we will visit the exhibition "THE TRUE SIZE OF AFRICA", which aims to correct the image of the underestimated continent shaped by colonialism and to focus on Africans in a different way. THE TRUE SIZE OF AFRICA wants to open our eyes by tracking down existing traditions of thought, prejudices and stereotypes and enabling new perspectives. The guided tour will be held in English.
We meet at 7:45 a.m. in the lobby of Koblenz Central Station and take the train (RE1) to Völklingen. You need your student ID and your student ticket to travel with the Deutschlandticket and visit the exhibition free of charge. In Völklingen we will meet students from the KHGs of Trier and Saarbrücken, with whom we will visit the Völklingen Ironworks together. After visiting the exhibition, we will have something to eat together (the costs for the meal will be borne by the KHG). We want to be back in Koblenz by 7 p.m. at the latest.
